    Difficulty Loading Mag into G30SF?

I have a two year old Gen 3 G30SF with Pearce +0 mag extensions. the 10th round is pretty difficult to load; but the when I insert the mag, it seems that the swell of the mag is not locking the mag into the mag catch. However, with only 9 rounds loaded it seems to not be a problem. Anyone else have similar problems, if yes, any resolutions.

I don't own a G30, but I'd say slap that mag in. My other guns feel similar when they're topped off.

My G30SF required some force to seat a full 10rd mag with the slide forward. It seems to be a common thing with G30 mags, so I wouldn't worry too much. I was told to load the mags with 10rds, and leave them loaded for a week or so. They still require a little force to seat on a closed slide, but not much more than any of my other Glocks. I never had a single issue shooting 10+1 out of it, and I shot 10+1 for the first 200rds just to be sure.

Thanks. That's what I'm doing and there's no binding. It's a new gun to me so I was curious. My G19 doesn't do this so that's why I'm curious.

^ Same experience with several G30(s) I have owned threw the years. They get better with use. Load them up and if you need assistance after sore thumbs I'd recommend the Maglula Loader.

.45ACP x10 in that magazine body is A Lot of Lead, but so AWESOME !

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm familiar with 9mm/.40 Glocks but this is my first .45 Glock.

I have to agree. I'm going to Burro this weekend for a tac pistol class so I loaded up all the mags and are letting them sit full of ammo and loaded another mag up with snap caps and started to just cycling it through the mag mag well, dropping the mag, and reinserting.

Mine are so difficult that I have to really bear down with a hard long push with the heel of my hand to get the mag to seat with the slide forward. My nine round mags were even worse. They were so tight, once seated, that I couldn't rack the slide to chamber the top round. On one of my nine rounders I did what many consider a no..no. I cut one winding off the mag spring. It works fine now. We'll see if I'll regret it, but I don't think so.

I had the same problem with my 30sf. Here's what I did to fix it.

Load 9 rounds into your magazine. Then take the glock mag loader that came with the gun and depress the bullets up and down 20-50 times. This will take just enough tension off the spring to get the 10th round in with out killing your thumbs.

As far as inserting the magazine with 10 rounds into the gun you need to give the magazine a good slap.

I agree with everyone here. It's a good push to seat a full 10 round mag when the slide is forward. It goes right in when the slide is back. I have always attributed this due to the magazine being rather short and stuffing 10 rounds of .45 in it, there just isn't much room for the rounds to be pushed down in the magazine. My 30sf does the same with a factory bottom or a Pearce +0.

Thanks everyone for the info and that it's not just my gun.

Mine was the same way. Have to be persuasive putting the magazine in with the slide in battery. I run a 9 round mag and it's a bit worse, But nothing that'll make me Not love this pistol.

Pretty normal for a few of my G30 magazines. I called Glock and they swapped out the ones that would not accept the 10th round.

Yeah, I haven't had a problem loading my mags, they just swell enough to make inserting the mags a bit of a chore.
