CZ 75B and 75SA

I'm looking for another 9mm handgun. Need it for pistol classes.
I have a SP-01 but modified to a race gun. Trigger pull down to 3lb.
Dont feel comfortable carrying that in a holster, etc.

Was thinking about getting a Glock 17 or another CZ 75.
The glock has more accessories especially in the holster dept.
But dont like the idea of shooting my foot off. With the CZ I can carry cocked and locked.

I've been shooting 1911s for a long time so I am use to the single action.
I really have no use for a double action trigger.

Does anyone have a dedicated Single Action CZ75 SA model? Is the trigger smoother than the 75B (double action model?)

I don't know if I would say the trigger is better on the sa model but I like the beavertail and the safeties better on it.

I have an SP-01 with a CZCustom comp hammer and trigger job.

This past weekend I shot the SA and the P-01 at the Expo. The SA trigger is definitely better (shorter pretravel, crisper release) than the P-01, but not nearly as nice as my SP-01 with custom work.

If you plan to carry, the P01 or PCR might be worth a look. Though I must say I am a big fan of the extended beavertail on the 75 SA and SP01. Tons of people carry Glocks, but if you're used to carrying cocked and locked, it might be worth sticking to the CZ since the safety-equipped models can be carried in condition one.

Much better. Its not so much smooth, as in crisp with single action guns IMO.
It could still benefit from a upgraded hammer/sear, but its not bad out of the box.

I'd go 75 SA for sure, without question. The beavertail is a bonus and if you do not intend to use the DA trigger pull then the trigger is definitely better. There is a lot of pretravel in the DA/SA trigger in SA mode. With an adjustable SA trigger, you can tune out all of the pre- and over-travel.

I worked the hammer/sear on mine until it no longer cammed the hammer at all and required a slightly shorter trigger pull to release. However, I maintained nearly the full factory trigger pull weight, which was my preference for this gun. The aftermarket straight trigger from CZ Custom allowed me to do what I said above; tune out the pre- and over-travel. Plus I think it looks awesome.

I had a safariland that I really liked. Not very "tactical" but was solid. Blade-tech makes some nice ones also.

I paid $580 otd for mine through GOG but I have seen them in stores for anywhere from $600-670.

CZ75 SA has best trigger right out of box amount all CZ75 base line models. Which was the main reason I picked up mine over the SP01 model.

Why not carry your race gun? How can you shoot it competitively and be uncomfortable drawing from a holster? 3lbs is where my CZ75SA/DA trigger breaks.

Now - if you "need" another handgun - then I love the ergos of the SA - had mine converted to DA/SA so I could shoot it as a "production" gun and not have to compete against the 1911 pattern guys.

I got my 75SA for about 575 out the door, the issue that you might run in to is the availability of them I don't know what it is down south but up here it too me awhile to find it somewhere that wasn't going to gouge me for it.

you mentioned that you were going to be using it for a pistol class, but didn't say what the class specifically was. you might want to think about the additional weight of the CZ over the Glock as well, that said in my opinion the CZ is a superior pistol but there is something to be said about the lighter weight of the Glock especially if you are going to be carrying it on a belt all day, assuming its that kind of class.

Why not go with a 75 compact and swap it over to SAO?
