My personal recommendation is the Springfield MC Operator, or a Sig 1911 Railed. I personally don't enjoy new Colts or Kimbers.

Had similar requirements recently and I went with a Sig Nitron Rail 1911. It is black, railed, no stupid ambit safety (unless you are a lefty I don't see the point), and has factory 3 dot night sights. It is pretty cool looking too if you aren't hung up on a nontraditional looking 1911.Comment
