I a,a huge fan of .32 caliber, both the various revolver rounds and 32 ACP. Recoil is very light, no more than a .22 LR, .32 S&W Long wadcutters are legitimate self-defense rounds, .32 H&R Magnum is even more so and the .327 Federal Magnums rival .357 in power with much less recoil, making it a grear load for snubby revolvers. I took my three .32 S&W Long wheel guns to the range today for their annual exercise. The two on the end are virtually identical five-screw I frame guns from the 1920-1940 era. The snubby in the middle is an S&W Model 31-1 J frame from about 1970. I also have a Ruger .327 Magnum LCR and too many .32 ACP semi-autos to count, mostly WWII or older European models, including a 1944 Walther PP which may be the most ergonomically comfortable gun in my arsenal. 32 revolvers.jpg

Big fan of the .32 also. alas, I only have 3. Ruger lcr 327, S&W 32 UC, and an old 1950's Beretta model 35.

Well my Dad thought 32 was a good caliber for my Mom. After I was born, Dad bought this for my Mom. He was out to sea a lot. Thought she needed something to protect her, and me. Now I have it.

I really like the curved butt on your Model 30, and my two older Smiths and wish my Model 31 ws a Model 30 for that reason. But one will turn up someday and I will grab it. The biggest problem with owning .32 revolvers is that the ammo is hard to find. I finally ordered a 1,000-round case and am probably set for life in that caliber.

Yeah, 32 revolver ammo (.32 s&w long and magnum) is kinda hard to find. Luckily I have been reloading it for years. Last time I took the .32's out I shot up about 500 rounds of 32 s&w long and about 200 32 hr magnum.

No 30 super carry?
It's technically 32 caliber as it uses 0.312/0.313 bullets.
It's basically a slightly lengthened and MUCH higher pressure version of the 32 french long.

Nice collection. I have only one, an old Colt revolver from 1910 chambered in .32-20. The action is so loose from wear that I’d never fire it.

I have my dad’s Ortgies that was on his CCW in the 1940s. In the 80s I bought a Davis derringer in .32 acp. It is as small as the Davis .22 and I bought Glaser bullets for it.

It can likely be tightened up to run like new should you actually want to shoot it.
