Since I am a watch guy as well, ill explain the difference as I see it.

The 1911 is the equivalent of a vintage Rolex movement in an old Panerai. It has personality, character, and underrated class.

Glock is a equivalent of the modern day Casio. A quartz watch that lacks character or soul but will keep working as long as you need it to.

Nice ragweed, but a more accurate comparison would be the 1911 = 7750 Valjoux movement.

Breitling, Rolex, Tag, Omega all make watches based on the 7750, but the quality of work and embellishments justify the price differences.
