The originals are so beautifully made...
I wanted a Sig 210 for years and never could arrange for the money to coincide with an opportunity to buy one. I finally broke down and bought one of the US fixed sight P210's several years ago and it is an awesome gun with the smoothest action and the best out-of-the box trigger that I have ever shot. It is also stupidly accurate and great fun the shoot.
I would still like to get an original military surplus P210, but for the price difference, I think the US made ones deliver a great value. Mine was in virtually NIB condition and long with the original box and paperwork, it came with an extra magazine and a set of new Armory Craft G10 grips ($250 new), for a grand OTD. Compared to the $3500 +++ asking prices I see for originals I think it is a good option.
Collectability is another issue altogether as the Swiss made guns will always demand a premium.

Smpson Ltd has a large selection of P-210s at (relatively speaking) reasonable prices (sort by high-to-low and go to last page):

I purchased one late last year with a spare mag and holster for $2250. Very happy with the pistol--worthy of all the hype!

I have a P210-5 adjustable sight model. It came with the box, two mags, test target and all of the paperwork. I put a Rink anatomic grip on it and it makes a pretty good target gun.
The trigger does take some getting used to. It's very smooth but gives no indication of when it's going to release. Like a Geissele three gun trigger. You pull and keep pulling and then it goes bang. For my shooting style I like to know exactly where the release point is.
Working the slide is very smooth and the pistol is made like a Swiss watch. The machining on the inside is better than most manufacturers on the outside.
Overall, I like it. Wasn't cheap though.
