    Nighthawk & Wilson 1911’s ~

I started to look over each sight - because I’m close to ordering - and I see prices on the mfg’s pages are going up and up. In fact I saw 1911’s going for $5,000 to $8,000 + ( wow ).

I figure, if you really are into these semi / custom ( whatever ) 1911’s - maybe start looking into making a move before prices get even more out of hand.

Just deciding on what I prefer another 1911 or Korth revolver.

I guess all the other semi / custom places are just about the same price wise.

Hope one day a grandkid doesn’t pawn one of these for $250 🤣, or turns it in to one of those buy back programs 🤨.

    Take care.

I have both a Les Baer Premier II and a Wilson Combat CQB, both excellent 1911s, and both shoot approx the same accuracy. But without a doubt, the build quality of the Wilson is eons better, really no comparison. Even just holding them in your hands, you can feel the difference, and the controls, racking the slide etc better on the Wilson. Yes, one is more expensive, but nicer things cost more. If I had to keep only one of them, it is the Wilson, no question.

I also like the Wilson very much ~ it’s another one of my favorites. Glad you also like that Wilson. 😎

Prices sure did go up On those Les Baer 1911’s.
I’m sure they are fine 1911’s, and they are built tight, tight , tight.

I was looking over the 2 sights and boy are prices going up, I was also surprised that now for the more top tier models - they are in the $5,000 to $8,000 😳

Yeah, my Premier II is so difficult to rack the slide, not unusual for some Les Baers, they have extremely tight tolerances. After the 500 rd break-in recommended by Baer, it was still tight, and now after over 1000 rds, still the same.

I bought two Les Baers back in 2015-16 (one for my son's 18th birthday) and they were $1800 from Crazy John. I see they are now $2800.

That was the time to buy 😀. I saw some LB’s around 3 months ago and they were hitting $3,000.

If you are really into double-action revolvers, Korth will be your go-to.
If you are really into single-action revolvers, Freedom Arms or Standard Manufacturing will be your go-to.

Prices for all sorts of very nice items are up in general. Now is a good time to purchase; the communists have not yet got back into the WH, and despite slim margins in the Baboon pen, we are in a better spot politically, at least for the short term. Ammunition is a commodity to look at as well.

Also consider that 11% Rape Tax, unless you have a way around it.

These days the price of a Baer makes me give it a hard pass. When they were 1600-2000 they were great. Wilson quality has slipped as they are paying less attention to the 1911 and dumping all their money into the project 77 and bolt guns an AR stuff. Nighthawk is the best of the bunch these days and I’ve owned them all.

                            ^
Yes, I remember the Les Baer gunsight 1911 was $1,700, I saw 2 or 3 LB’s at a shop and they were in the high $2,700 to $3,300 hundreds.

When I ordered my Wilson and my Nighthawk they were in the $3,400’s, but that was a few years ago.

Prices are going up and even the Springfield and Dan Wesson are heading into the $2,000 + range.

Good thing is someone will have a nice 45 in the future, hope they keep the faith and not sell it. 😏

My only Wilson is from 2008. Still shooting it. Years of shooting USPSA Single Stack. New at that time was about 22-23 hundred. Later I sent it in for a sight change and magwell. With adding the magwell also got refinished.
