I have a full railed TRP Operator, and I'm wondering if its okay to switch to a traditional length guide rod? If so, what exactly do I need to replace?

Yes. Absolutely. All you need is a GI style guide rod and a spring plug for a Govt model. Very simple to do. Just re-use the recoil spring thats already there. Plenty of brands to choose from. Below are links to all you would need you need from MidwayUSA.

This would not work on the full rail TRP because it is a bushingless bull barrel design. If you want to put in a GI style guide rod, you will need a reverse collar plug. Like these:Yes. Absolutely.
