How does DoJ count their 30 days?

I am wondering how DoJ count their 30 days reset for guns. Here is my situation:

I purchased a new ruger on 5/2/12 at 2pm.

If you count 720 hours(30 days) from that time, that means it resets at 2pm on 6/1/12. Am I right? Has anyone have any experience with this?

The reason is that I have a gun at my FFL and if I dont actually dros it 6/1, I'd have to wait all the way to 6/5 when they open again.

I asked this and the answer I got was 30 days from when you last DROS a gun. So it should be the 1st.

iirc its measured in 24 hours periods. at least the 10 day wait is done that way.

yes. 30 of the 24 hour from 5/2/12 should put it on 6/1/2012 2pm

It is 30 24 hour periods from the time the last DROS was initiated in the computer.

I believe you are technically correct, but a lot of stores won't do the DROS till the next day. But don't take my word for it as I'm not a FFL and didn't even stay at a Holiday inn express last night.

I usually wait an extra day or two, just to be safe.
Haven't had any problem.
Of course, I'm anxious too and wish this 1 in 30 would go away.

If you want it on that date, bring in a copy of the laws and maybe you can convince them.

I always wait 31 days just to avoid the possiblities of getting fined or having to repaid to Dros it again.

I am going to DROS a gun tomorrow thats exactly (30) 24 hour periods after my last DROS. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hmm... you said $35 - that is a PPT fee and PPT is exempt from the 1 in 30 days.
You can go DROS it tomorrow...

DROS'd a new M&P9 today, 721h 30m since my last. Dealer didn't seem concerned.
