    P226 MK25

I've been wanting one of these guns for a while now, and while browsing the local gun store I came across one. I asked the guy if it was LE only and I told him I didn't think it was on the roster. He took the pistol over to a computer and came back a few minutes later and said it was good to go. I even told him a P226 Navy and P226 MK25 were not the same thing. I'm guessing they would dros it as a p226 navy since that's what their tag had written on it. It was definitely a MK25 though, it had the UID label and the Sig tag around the grip said MK25. So, would I be wrong for letting them sell it to me? Or is that just asking for trouble? Thanks

Would the DROS get denied though? Just wondering if the system would recognize the serial as an off roster handgun. Just don't want someone wasting $25.

The same thing happened to me with a SIG P226 Elite Stainless....I told the guy behind the counter that I was pretty sure it wasn't on the DOJ List. He told me NO,It is on the list. I never said another word. And you know what.....It shoots just like it was on then list !!!

Yep, I've seen them around for civilian sale, non SSE, on store shelves. Your DROS will go through.

Some MK25s are mislabeled on the packaging from Sig as Navy models.

If it says "Navy" on the box then it's "Navy" according to dros. You are lucky to find one like this. Enjoy!

This is how mine was labeled... and how it looks with Elite rosewood grips. Sig Custom Shop trigger enhancement package was a nice upgrade.
              Shoots great!

Wow, that looks amazing with those rosewood grips on it! You guys all eased my concern with buying it. Now I just have to wait since I bought a handgun two weeks ago and hope they still have it.

Can't you pay for it with the gun store, but just start the dros in 2 weeks? Of course it will be in jail for a month, but at least you'll know you will have secured it.

Believe it has night sites also standard and more internal parts are phosphate coated... besides that basically the same gun.

Different rail. Mk25 has an actual picatinny rail on it. The Navy has Sig's rail on it.
