    meprolight night sights

Whats up guys. I purchased some night sights and had some questions. Do night sights have expiration dates/life? The reason why I ask is the box came in has a date of 05/04.. Should I worry?

Yes tritium has a half life of 12 years.... I'd take them back and get new ones

The issue know is that this the second set I have the received. The first set I got were marked on the box with the date 05/04 so I sent them back for some other ones. Should I request a refund or are the boxes just marked with that date?

My fist Glock has Trijicon NS.... bot the gun around 1994... they still glow... but are not as bright....
Some shelf at up 8 years of glow....

unless they were super cheap.... refund and buy from a place who has fresh stock....
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I would not accept them if you bought them "new". You can also contact the meprolight and see if they will replace the vials. I have heard some say they do it for free.

They're filled with radioactive material that have a certain half life. After 12 years they will be much dimmer. Do not accept an item with 66.67% of it's life expectancy unless they offer you at least 66.67% off the price.
