    Glock OEM front sight height

    Hi,

Whats the height of Glock Gen 3 plastic OEM front sight for G17, G19 and G34?

    Is it 0.165" or 0.170"?

Planning on replacing front sight with a fiber optic sight keeping the OEM rear plastic sight.

    Thanks

Unless something has changed with the newer gens, the gen 1-2-3 front sites are all the same, on every gun, 4.1mm. Thats like 0.161" The rears come in several heights.

        So get a 0.165" or 0.160" sight?

Can you post a link to the sight you're looking at?
Just going off the measurements I'd go with the .160

It doesnt matter much. Doing the math, that .005" front site difference is about 1/4" at 10 yards.

There is no better. Do you want it hitting 1/4" higher or 1/4" lower? Where The .160 is closest to stock. The .165 will hit 1/4" lower than that. Given the choice, I would always prefer for a gun to shoot a bit higher than a bit lower.

Just get rid of the crappy rear sight as well and get a proper set of metal sights.

The load choice will make far more difference.
A 10-25yd distances, slower bullets land higher because the bullet spends more recoil-time in the barrel.
During recoil, the line of sight is climbing in relation to the line of sight that existed during the trigger break.
