is that third one down a RRA 1911? love the unmarked slide!! sexy... straight sexy...
That last race gun was built a long while back when the other sights you mentioned were probably not even available yet, or maybe the gunsmith only had that holosight available for photos, who knows... Oh and those lightening cuts are made so the compensated, less-power factor competition rounds (.38 Super, etc.) can cycle the slide reliably...

None of these guns are factory, or semi-custom factory (Wilson Combat, Ed Brown etc.)... They may have been factory guns (Springfields or Colts) to begin with, but $4K to $6K later they become full house customs... I do agree they are very sexy. Would love to send guns away to get built, but I just can't wait 8 months or more for it to come back. But their owners all say they are worth the wait...

Woah! Kimbers go that high?? If so, look at Wilson, Les Baer, Ed Brown, or S.A. Custom Shop. For your budget though, you can get a Mil-Spec S.A. They're pretty good and serves well as a base gun to customize later. They're going for around 650.

Definitely go to Irvington Arms if you're thinking Kimber. Their prices are fantastic. Call them.

Congrats! Great choice, just remember to use magazines with plastic followers. Wilson 47D magazines would be an excellent choice.

I heard plastic followers were mainly important in Kimbers etc. with aluminum ramps (nicks from the metal followers on some magazines). Anything else going on that we should be aware of?
How come the Court has expanded other Bill of Rights clauses, but failed to even defend the Second Amendment?
