and a little polish to the trigger and it's really a nice trigger pull too.

And of course, my new Springfield MC Operator, stock, beats both of those but it's not DA/SA.

West German Sig Sauer P228, I like the balance of it over my West German P226, which is still an awesome gun. And I prefer these guns over Glocks or basically any striker fired pistols.
My favorite striker fired is actually a DA/SA pistol , the Walther P99AS.

One of which I own and am currently selling (sold pending funds) because I am out of room for guns and about to move into a smaller place.

The first DA/SA gun I liked shooting was the Sig P226 9mm. It has the least difference between pull weights in the DA/SA trigger that I have ever seen. This is incredibly helpful in a gunfight and when learning to master the trigger.

The second is the CZ 75D PCR Compact 8mm. It has the second least difference between pull weights and for some reason I just really liked the trigger. Overall, this is just a really nice gun. I am bummed to sell it. But I need to downsize, and this is the gun that gained the most interest of the ones I was willing to part with. I assume other CZ 75 models will have the same or similar action. I have not had the chance to try them out or own them.

The absolute worst DA/SA gun I have ever owned or fired was the Beretta 92/96 series of guns. Why? You guessed it. The trigger pulls are night and day different from each other. Which results in two different groupings when training defensively (from the holster). If you're not just plinking and do not have the luxury of bypassing that heavy DA pull the gun is difficult to shoot. The first pull is way too heavy and the follow up is way too light. So, when shooting at speed you end up with one group high and one group low and nothing where you were aiming. It takes a lot of range time to get those groups to close up and start to look like one group where you are actually aiming. Some people never get there. If you already have the basics and have mastered the fundamentals this takes a lot less time. But if you are trying to learn the fundamentals while dealing with that trigger...you have an uphill battle on your hands.

Given a choice I much prefer a Glock or a 1911...two radically different guns from both each other and DA/SA guns. What I like about them is their triggers (actions) have the same pull weight every time. In the case of the Glock it also has the shortest trigger reset of the striker fired gang that I have seen thus far. Which makes follow up shots faster and more accurate. But if I were being issued a gun, I would make do and just put in the extra time on the practice range mastering it. I'd be there regardless. Anything will work. The guestion is, how much effort you will be putting in before you are any good with it. And would you be performing better with something else.
Well my second favorite is the ,,,,,

My S&w 915's trigger has a very nice crisp single action, and da is smooth and not bad. It just isn't used much because of its age.

Current favorites are the CZ75bd, PCR, and 97b. They make things easy and are just fun to shoot.
