Is there a market for used OEM G17.3 slide & barrel?

Just so I could have a spare frame, I just ordered a LEO trade in G17.3. All I want is the frame. Is there a market for the barrel and slide?

I know it might well depend on the condition and as a LEO trade in, who knows, but I am asking in general. Would be nice to defray the cost, cheap as it was.

    Thanks

The slide for sure. People look for spare slides to have them cut for a red dot and keep the original slide intact.
I don't know about barrel demand.

You'll have no issue selling that slide and barrel if it's priced right. Glock is selling gen 3 oem pre cut slides for around $300

OK, great. I just got the thing on the off chance something breaks on my primary G17 frame. Given the upcoming ban, I have so much invested in spare parts for the platform it would be kind of a bummer if all that went to waste.

Also might be a base for an AA .22 conversion kit I've got kicking around. But probably will just wrap up and store in a cool dry place for a rainy day.

You can always check eBay for the current pricing on a used slide/barrel combo.

GT Distributors. $319 plus shipping. Make sure to specify that they ship you one made in Austria, as while they were aware of the 10 round mag issue, they didn't know about the Austria thing.

FYI, just started DROS on mine. The slide finish is fairly worn from holster wear. Barrel looks good. Frame is good. Came with some dead tritiums. For $319 you are NOT getting one of those "almost looks new!!" LEO trade ins you hear about.

Gotcha. Yeah I was actually running the numbers yesterday. I can get a new G17 for about $600 OTD from a local shop. If i order one online, itll be the $320, plus $100 transfer fee. A new barrel and slide would run me another $350, give or take.

My new line of thinking is to just get a new pistol, or a g17 slide/barrel and swap it on my G34...

Yeah I considered just a new 2nd gun but for me, considering all I really wanted was the frame, I decided to just do this. End of the day, it's still cheaper than all the other options out there. Plus I hopefully can get something back on the slide and barrel, beat as it is. I figure someone in the market for a "optic cut + cerakote" project would probably want it.

I actually don’t mind a “worn” pistol. It gives it character.

I would be so on this if it weren’t for the extra CA fees.

Yeah fer sure it put a dent in the "it's only $319!!" feeling but it is what it is.
