Dammit, you guys are like drug dealers. I've always thought the Pythons were beautiful guns but never longed for one. But now, they are really nice and not outrageous. Yes, I'd take the advice and get a nice pre-loved one. Gav Boys 11% extortion fee makes us want to avoid buying new guns and enriching his war chest to persecute us.

Single action, it’s good but not great. Kinda heavy but with the shape of the trigger and the way it breaks you don’t notice it much. In double action it’s incredible. Has to be experienced. Word is the Anaconda in double action is even BETTER.😬

They had some growing pains with a few mishaps that got through quality control the first year they were released in 2020 which in all fairness may have been related to the pandemic but all reviews and feedback I've heard in person or seen online have been extremely positive since then.

You all keep talking, and it's going to cost me money. I have an older 6 inch Python, circa 1975. Couldn't pass it up, $1800.00, looked new, but no box or papers. Been handling the new ones here. Compared to my older one, I see no reason not to buy the new Python. Now that the blued ones are available here, and this thread keeps ticking, another Python might be in my safe.

The Pythons are beautiful, but it's the Grizzly with the ports and smooth cylinder that is gnawing at me and saying "Buy Me!!!!"

I actually stopped by a local shop yesterday that I have never been to and they had one on display. I thought the fit and finish were excellent and the bluing was superb. I have owned several of the older ones and thought the new model looked every bit as good. They had it priced at 1999.00 which I thought was a bit more than I thought they were selling for so I left. If it was priced correctly I probably would have bought it.

I would get a new production one if you want something to really put through the paces at the range and blast away with. Keep the vintage one for collector value and occasional enjoyment with .38's at the range. Finding gunsmiths who can repair and time the vintage lockwork is getting very difficult. The new ones have much simpler and more durable internals.

I bought an off roster 3” blued Python at Riflegear via single shot exemption then I reverted it back to DA/SA after the 10 day waiting period. The shortest barrel for single shot revolver exemption is 3” anything longer is gtg. Now waiting to pick up my .357/.38 special 2” snub nose stainless Colt King Cobra DA/SA

Is it single shot exemption or single action exemption? And what is the cost for services? I didn’t know they offered this service.

                                It’s like 50 or 75 bucks. I can’t remember.
