    fist gun process question

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread wasn't sure where to post.
Okay so i just bought my first handgun Sunday, but didn't have proof of residency on me so i have to bring it in when i pick it up.Now i live with my folks for now so no bills are in my name ,and i don't have a car that is mine so cant use the paperwork for that. So i was thinking rental agreement because i do pay rent but its not in a written agreement,i was going to have my folks type one up.Would that be sufficient as proof of residency along with a state ID ? and also Does it have to be notarized for it to be binding or is it good as is? Any help greatly appreciated.

You would be correct. Have your parents write up a rental agreement, have both of you sign it and date it. That is currently my proof of residency, due to I am in your same situation. Just make sure it is current, as in make sure it states you live there up to the current date.

You can also go to the DMV and get a printout from them that is a proof of residency. Even though it's the same place that issues your license, this counts as a second piece of proof for whatever reason. You will not have to take a number and wait to be called, as the desk that issues those numbers will issue this printout for you immediately. ...so... should just take a couple minutes.
