Sig P365 XMACRO Firing & Ejection Issues

I recently purchased a P365 XMacro now that they are on the CA roster.

For some reason, I'm getting some strange behavior from it. Maybe it's still in the breakin period but it's got me wondering what's wrong with it.

Out of about 80 to 90 rounds so far, I've had about five times where it went click without firing. Each time, I'd go to eject the round to inspect it, and the slide would not pull back more than about a quarter inch. I'd tap it back into battery and pull trigger again with only a click. Try to eject again and once more, only pulls back about 1/4 inch. Tap into battery and repeat once ore twice more and it would finally go bang and running normal again until a few mags later, same thing occurs. Rounds were all brand new Fiocci 115 grain range ammo.

I'd have thought maybe these were light strikes, but the fact that I couldn't pull the slide back leaves me thinking something inside is not in place correctly or getting hung up somehow, which might explain why no fire AND no slide moving back.

Anyone heard of this issue or have idea's what might be happening?

Did you break it down, clean and lube it before using it? I have run probably 2,500 rounds through mine without a single jam or misfire. What ammo are you running?

Yes. did a full take down, clean & lube before firing. And as posted, I have only put Fiocci 115 grain range ammo through it so far.

          Not normal. Contact sig.

I have 8000+ rounds through p365 variants and I've never had that happen.

Are you sure the slide was stuck? The trigger disconnector, or whatever that tab is, is really stiff and the slide hits it right after going out of battery.

My experience with Fiocchi is that they have hard primers from time to time. It really sounds more of an ammo issue than an issue with the gun.

If it was the gun it would probably happen a lot more often. Could be a few rounds are just slightly out of spec, and are binding up the gun. Try different ammo first.

                crosseyedshooter,
I'm certain the slide was stuck. It just didn't want to move back more than about a quarter inch.

                P5Ret,
Thanks for the heads up on possible hard primers. Though it doesn't explain the stuck slide.

When I try to diagnose an issue, I try to remove the variables.

Assuming this is a new pistol, I'd start with ammo i.e. try other manufacturers, grain, etc. However, since you mentioned cleaning the pistol prior to shooting it, I'd make sure everything was reassembled correctly. If it was, then try ammo, Afterwards, you can contact Sig and mention your trouble-shooting.

Seems premature to automatically assume something is defective without checking other possible causes.

I purchased an xmacro comp in the last few months, shot it right out of the box, and then cleaned it. No issues with 115gr, 124gr, +P, etc,

Send it to sig, they may or may not fix the issue, when you get it back sell it and buy something else.

If any firearm locks up on me, be it the all mighty sig sauer, Glock or H&K and it’s my SD arm - I’m not going to trust that pistol for no reason. Jmo

I have 3 of 365 and really 1000s of rounds through them. Never faced this issue, or any kind.
                        For sure contact to Sig.
