I would hope there is no interior barrel threading, so as to not get enmeshed with CA's AW laws.

[Some other comp'd guns do have concealed threading, which is a legal issue in CA unless
the gun had a true fixed 10rd magazine, which might be hard to implement on many pistol
      models.]

C'mon man, I'm going to try to be as respectful as I can because of who you are and what you've done for this community, but a simple google search would have taken less time than you posting and would have answered your question.

SGS Style comps have been around since the 80's.

Additionally, all of these questions are already answered in the OP.

If you're doing this as a CYA for Calguns, I could understand.

It looks like a UTG rail... with an extension? I dig it.

            Younger days, funding limitations.

If I were to do it today, here is the company I would use

S.E. Barry Burton Style Compensator Kit — COLLECTOR DESIGN WERKS

There are many options now a days

Nice, I haven't seen those ones before. I did see a couple other options, but I already have one from Ric previously and knew he's a stand up dude with a solid product, so I went right back to him for this one and absolutely love it. Hell, thinking about buying another haha. One of the LGS just dropped a HUGE sale and brand new 92FS are $599!

That UTG rail, did you make it longer, or did they used to make a longer one? The one I see appears shorter.

Old left-over rail from the pile. It just happened to have a radius that fit the SGS. So a file and some elbow grease fitted the scrap rail in front of the UTG style rail adaptor. Yeah, good'o days when I had more time than money and mostly no one at the time was selling a railed SGS styled compensator.

I generally don't deep dive into Product X vs Y accessory subfeatures except in rare occasions -
I merely comment /caution on problems that might be an issue in that specific subject area.

Perhaps I missed detail in OP but did not see info re: internal bbl threading.

Again, there are many comped pistols - some even factory, from decades ago - that have internal
bbl threading which triggers AW status - esp 1911s and BHPs.

That's all I want - people to check things. There are many 10s of thousands of such pistols in CA,
owned by people who don't check these things/ even know that they're issues, that could get them
in trouble. The DOJ seems not to step out and get active on this, apparently preferring local
enforcement (+ their database quality is poor and not good enough for warrant)
