LEOs and high capacity AR magazines

I know some LEO guys who use some 30-rd PMags with their personally owned AR rifles at the range on their off duty time.

I know that they can purchase and use high capacity magazines for handguns, but wasn't sure if they were exempt from using high capacity magazines with their personal AR rifles (with bullet button installed).

I'm sorry, but I'm a dumbass. What exactly is "featureless"?

This is an AW per CA:

A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:

A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
        A thumbhole stock.
        A folding or telescoping stock.
A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
        A flash suppressor.
        A forward pistol grip.

A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.

A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 30 inches.

        Make it not that.

Typical ARs have 1: folding or telescoping stock 2:flash suppressor, and 3: pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.

You can fix 1 with an M16A2 style stock, or permanently pin it
you can fix 2 by taking off the FS/FH and putting on a brake
you can fix 3 by getting a monsterman grip /hammer head grip

the only downside of going featureless is that i'd have to give up my sweet grenade launcher.

LEO's can buy ANY std cap magazines ( for any pistol or a rifle) . Not just the ones they use on or off duty.

When it comes to AR's (with BB's) they have to use magazines 10rd or less.

Unless they have a letter from the department, then a LEO can register and shoot in whatever configuration they want ie how they were made to be shot.

My personal AR has a radlock and only has 10 rounders

Obviously at work I just use my issued stuff.

I'm sick of guys abusing their power. It sucks for those of us who mind our p's and q's because we know what will happen.

Aside from the fact this is an AR rifle question in the handgun forum, it's old ground.
