Are you shooting factory rounds, remanufactured or reloads? 1K rounds of 45ACP is not enough to justify a detailed cleaning. Limpwristing is another good possibility.

Usually shoot the Winchester value pack from Wally World. The limp wrist theory could be correct. It happened a lot to my wife when she was shooting. Its contagious.

I live in the southern quadrant near Nebulean Sphere. The Laser Ray laws out here are ridiculous.

Well that takes out the oversized base possibility. I'm thinking you keep the chamber clean. I say take her out shooting and give her a good hold with a solid wrist all the way to the last round.

Do not believe this. I hear people blame jams on limp wrist all the time. The gun should cycle wether you hold it tight or not. I shoot 10s of thousands of rounds through 1911s and have had my fair share of issues. Limp wristing is not the problem. If it isn't cycling reliably then something is wrong with the gun. 90% of the time it is a quick fix of proper cleaning, change springs, or change extractors.

I have a 1911 that cycles fine with 10lb spring with Walmart 230grn load, and won't lock back with anything stronger. It really does not take that much force to strip a round into the chamber. Since 6-7 of the shots chambered fine before the last shot, really does not suggest it is your recoil spring's problem or limb wrist. As a rule of thumb, if the spent casing is dropping within 3 - 6 ft to your right, your spring is prob fine.

Hate to say it, but most likely it is your mags. Weaker spring combined with possible other slightly out of tune parts. One thing to try is to stretch out your mag spring by hand a bit. Not going to fix the weak spring, but will give initial few cycle a bit more tension. If the prob goes away, then buy some new +10% springs.

Another thing to check is to see if your mag follower are touching the slide stop prematurely. It could have the effect of slowing down your slide sufficiently to cause FTB.

All this is assuming that when you hand rack, you don't feel any resistance in slide movement. Cycle the last round with a dummy round to check. Resistance could mean other issues.

A stronger recoil spring may actually work, but it could be compensating for another issue if not resolved will contribute to other future reliability problems.
