training at only < 10 yards is very stupid. You trust your life and your family's life to a weapon system but only at very short ranges in your imagined scenario?

Don't try to predict how a life threatening situation will take place. Sure it will in most cases be up close and personal but you should be confident in your shooting at all distances.

If you are attacked at close to 7 yards...21 feet...it is a toss up if it is better to go for your gun or going with a bladed weapon or open hand technique
