Does it matter what type of .22 you use? I have 10/22's but like the gallery pumps better

No it doesn't, but realize that there is a timed course of fire that is 2 mins, 10 rounds. 55 seconds, 2 mags 2 & 8. 65 seconds, 2 mags 2 & 8. 5 min 10 rounds. We always tell our students that they can run what they brung. We teach use of a sling, steady hold factors, natural point of aim; sometimes the rifle you bring isn't optimal. I would suggest maybe bring both?
