    CCW Age Requirement

hi guys ok heres my issue. i am 20 years old (dont give me the just wait till your 21 speech) and im looking to get my CCW. im located in Butte county for college i originate from sac county. So i contacted Sac Sheriff dept. and they said they issue to 18 years or older. then when i checked Butte sheriff dept requirements they say 21? so clearly if sac is willing to go down to 18 there must not be a law against getting a CCW at age 18 in ca so why would or why can butte say 21? i sent them an email asking but im looking for input.
    thanks

and as far as procuring a hand gun, when i contacted DOJ they agreed with me and said i can legally own a hand gun through intrafamilial gun transfer.

Other than the 21 restriction Butte is probably one of the easiest counties to get an LTC issued in this entire state. It is also inexpensive compared to some of the other counties in this mad state.

        Why can they?
This is a May Issue State, there is a ton of discretion on their parts. I would apply then take to CGF (foundation, not forum) concerning this if you get rejected.

Remember there is no interview like in sac, the class is a hell of a lot shorter and you damn well better be able to qualify with your weapon. Good Cause is Self Def + a little descriptiveness. Walk in with your qual, the form filled out, pay's your money gets your live scan and receive bacon.. i mean LTC in a goodly bit.
...but their exists also in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to attempt to lower the powerful to their own level, and reduces men to prefer equality in slavery to inequality with freedom.

Why would Butte care what Sacs policy is ? Sonoma doesn't care, LA county doesnt care, Kern county doesnt care, etc etc.

This, they aren't going to care what Sacramento county does; Because it's not Sacramento county.

And Cal Guns foundation = CGF. There's a link on the front page i'm pretty sure.

You have to be 21 yrs old to own a handgun. Why wouldn't you have to be 21 to have an LTC?
"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

You have to be 21 to buy a handgun, not own one, IIRC.

Correct. You can have a handgun transferred to you via interfamilier transfer at age 18, then get your license. Completely legal.

unfortunately some of you are right butte county's POLICY is 21 regardless of the law... you'd think this is some sort of legal rights violation but looks like im stuck waiting 7 months till im 21...

Well, glad you got that figured out. Be happy that you can possibly get an LTC. Don't cry about having to wait 7 months when the majority of us can wait until we're 80 and still not get a LTC where we live.

And it's not the end of the world to not have a LTC.

I am going to be honest. Butte county has a sheriff that is willing to permit residents to carry a concealed weapon and now you want to Piss in his cherios over an age requirement he has to issue. ????

I don't agree with you or your thought process.

                              Respectfully,
