G43, Shield Z9 Range Test (New Spring)

A little back story:

I bought 8 Shield Z9 Mags when they first came out (nearly 2 years ago) and have had zero malfunctions. I typically shoot a minimum of 200 rounds per month, so pushing 5k+ rounds through them at this point.

I recently had my very first malfunction, a single FTF. I contacted Shield and told them about it. They asked how many mags I had and sent me 8 replacement springs! Even though I only had a single failure on one magazine. Great customer service!

Went to the range this past Sunday and tested the mag that had the malfunction with the new spring.

200 Rounds in total, zero malfunctions. The new spring has 1 more coil than the older spring and far more tension.

75 Rounds Reloads, Berry's Bullets 115g FMJ, 5.5g titegroup

25 Rounds CCI/Speer 124g +P JHP

Great customer service, I only have two Z9’s like you bought them when they first came out. No issues but good to know the customer service is first rate.

Good to know about their CS. Got mine same time. Same 2 mags stuffed with rounds this whole time. 1 in the gun, the other in my back pocket. They get dusty and linted up but still go bang every time I shoot then I take them apart to clean. They’ve been a great product for me.

Similar story here! Was glad to see the newers springs have another coil, so even if the springs wear they still have one more coil than the originals!
