Ruger LC9 Owners; I Need Your Help!

Today I picked up my new LC9 and went to the shooting range. I was hitting the bullseye like nobody's business. After 60 rounds by bullets started hitting to the left. I was like, huh? I looked at the pistol and my sights shifted to the right. I'm so disappointed right now. This is a new pistol for crying out loud! I also noticed that the trigger has significant play when moved from side to side. Can any LC9 owners confirm this as normal? I guess I'll have to call Ruger on Monday! (sigh)

Put some locktite on the allen socket set-screw and sight it back in then tighten it down firm. My LC9's trigger also has side-to-side movement.

Relax and enjoy your gun - if anything goes wrong with it, Ruger will take care of you. Mine had to go back to the factory as there was no downward spring bias on the slide hold-open and it would lock open sometimes before the mag was empty. Anyway I really like mine and I just put on an integral laser from Lasermax. Now to test that!

      NoHeavy,

I appreciate the response. I do own the Ruger LCP and have had no issues. You've brought some peace of mind regarding the trigger play. So I was told Ruger is aware of this issue and immediately mails you an entire new slide. I'm just disappointed at Ruger's quality control.
      Thank You,

Oh, and the front sight shifted big time. There was only little shifting with the rear sight.

side to side trigger movement is completely normal for LC9.
simply loctite your rear sight after re-alignment.
i've got over 1300rds(lost count now) down the pipe with mine...function has been 100% with all my reloads(RN/FMJ) and federal ammo.

Your front sight should not have moved at all. Look carefully and you'll see that in addition to being dove-tailed to the slide - it also has a roll pin towards the front that locates down into the slide. Since yours moved, I could only guess that the roll pin is missing?

              NoHeavyHitter,

Here's a photo of the front sight.

Same exact thing happened to me with the rear sight. Mine were low and left as the sight had shifted all the way to the right.

I tightened the screw down and haven't had any issues. Good thing you found it before the screw fell out..that would have been a pain in the arse for sure.

I just got off the phone with Ruger. They're sending me a new slide. I asked that they overnight it too. It's just disappointing to purchase a new pistol and have issues with it right out of the box!

That looks like a totally different front sight assembly than what's on mine. My front sight has a pin that attaches it to the slide so it won't move like that.

Ruger is really good at backing up their firearms. Let us know how it turns out.

Ruger just called and said they created a new slide for my LC9. The slide ships out today on my dime because I wanted it next day air. You would think it would be free of charge. They should have at least thrown in a free mag for my troubles. They said the new slide has pinned sights.
                          Thank You,

Sorry are you upset that you demanded next day air instead of their free offered shipping and they want you to pay for it?? I get that you aren't happy but being unreasonable isnt their fault.

I was a little upset. However, I gave their representive no attitude, and I also advised them I know it wasn't thier fault, so I wasn't going to become irate. I simply suggested it would be nice if they shipped something next day air, otherwise I would cover the cost.
