    HK Extended Mag Releases Available

It appears that the HK extended mag releases are again available. (They run out of them periodically.) A few months ago I ordered two of them and they make a truly great difference in the operation of my HK USP Compact 9mm pistols. They work on all their pistols as I understand it, but read the details in the link below. I highly recommend this inexpensive mod, and it is a do it yourself. You can also order a replacement roll pin for the mag release. I've reused the original roll pins, but HK recommends replacing them.

Great mod indeed. Took 2 minutes to install. I also re-used my roll pin without issues. I installed this on my Full size USP .40 S&W and it works fine so far. Some people have reported that the release did not work on theirs.

I second that, Paperchasin......with the original, smaller mag release, I had to shift my grip all over the place to drop a mag. Now, with the extended release, I can drop a mag with my strong hand thumb as slick as a baby's bottom and I'm much, much more confident with this pistol. It literally transformed the pistol for me.

I use my index finger, even though I could still use my thumb. Not a problem for me.
