    dros'd a cz sp01 9mm today! cant wait

well i sold my p226 navy last week, i never got really good at the gun not as good as my 1911, but hey thats a 1911

i wasnt planning on getting another gun, but then got around to reading about cz's and people loving them, the price for a all steel gun didnt seem too bad, mind you most of my guns were sigs and the cz was way under the sig price.

So i guess wanting a CZ now was a good time because there was a post about a shop in watsonville (2 hours away) that has a sp01 in stock.

So today i decide im going to leave and drive 2 hours away, before i leave i call the local gun store (triple A) in vallejo, to see if they have one, he says yes they have a sp-01, i was suprised and made sure he said sp-01 and not p-01 haha.

I get to the store and there it is, picked it up and i see what people meant they fit like a GLOVE, the price was 699, markleys has it for 650 but its a 2 hour drive, went ahead and did the paperwork

Afterwards drove to the range to shoot my other guns, and notice they had a cz75b 9mm for rental, decided to rent and mannn it shoots nice, im assuming the cz75b is just the same as the sp-01 so if thats indictation of the sp-01 then im glad i dros'd it today

Pick up on 5/17/2012! pics to come!

One thing i noticed is that the sp01 is a DA/SA, but no decocker, so in order to drop the hammer on a LIVE ROUND you have to manually do it...to me that means one thing THE GUN IS SAO lol, i mean it has a safety so to me im probably never going to shoot DA because i dont ever want to mannually drop the hammer on a live round

Sweet! The SP-01 is a bit of an upgrade over the 75B because it has a beavertail which allows for a better grip. It also is a bit heavier because of the rail and it soaks up a little more recoil then the 75b. The only reason I sold mine is because I got a smokin deal on a Hi Power but it was a gun gun to shoot that is for sure.

It is actually the other way around, SA/DA and I don't think you want to drop the hammer on a live round with that gun. It is basically setup like a 1911 except the whole SA/DA thing lol.

I wish that I had the cash to own both but I like 1911's too much for that to happen anytime soon lol.

Yeah I thought it was odd myself but you can check it out on the website. You can also convert it to SAO as well if you want it to feel a little more like your 1911.

Lighten the mainspring and leave the recoil spring and your gun just got way better for $11.

Throw some Hogue grips and youre in business. Only another $25.

I've shot a lot of guns but the 75 variants just feel right.

The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

i did the same.. sold my p226, (which i would say was a great gun, i rather have a manual safety though), then went looking for a replacement. i had my eyes on a sp-01 for a while now, but could not for the life of me find one anywhere. i found one online for 570... SCORE!

Yeah CZ75 mags work and the great thing is you can buy rebuild kits to rebuild all of your preban 16rd CZ75 mags
