Is there some way to reduce double action pull on my 649 without effecting reliability. Is there a gunsmith in the North Bay (Sonoma County) that could do this?

This. Pay a pro. They also polish parts that may be rubbing on the inside of the frame, take off rough spots, and like that. A Smith action job should be cheap, and work wonders.Comment

What dash is it?
I recommend the TK CUSTOM spring kit if the firing pin is frame mounted. I have done a few. If not, I like the Wilson Combat kit because you get 3 different rebound spring weights to try out. I usually go with the #13
