    Affordable 1911?

There are a couple of stipulations. I want a US made one, I feel if I get a 1911 I want it to be a US made one. I would appreciate a link and or youtube links.

    What is affordable to you?

If you want American made under 1k, can't go wrong with Kimber Custom II or sig 1911 nitron, for that one you will have to search.

Yes, for someone to make a recommendation we need to know your approximate budget.

Under $1k I'd say either a springfield loaded or sig 1911.

SA 1911s are so sexy, but not made in the US.

Consider Ruger's SR1911, American made by American company (can't say that about their bags though :-o)
Even after SSE, should net close to 1k.

dude i just took my RIA 1911 45 out to the range and it was awesome. Once i figured out how my sights were set i was putting pretty good groups together at 25 yards (the wind was blowing pretty good so the range had to take down there 7 and 12 yard targets.)

Unfortunately, that gun is not on the roster and even those people out of state are having a diificult time getting them. Take a look at the Auto Ordnance 1911, I believe you can get them for around 600 bucks or so. Nothing fancy, probably the most authentic looking GI .45 out there, though. I believe this gun is US made, but I am not 100% certain.

pretty sure it's Brazil for quite some time now.

                        edit:
yea the ones with the "N"s have this above the serial #:
                        S.I. Geneseo IL USA
                        Made in Brazil-Imbel
                        NXXXXXX
Where the NM or LW models do not they have:
                        Springfield INC
                        Geneseo IL USA
                        NMXXXXXX
This is what mine have on them at least. It is my guess that the ones that say made in brazil are fully assembled there, where as the other are imported frames and slides and put together here.

Also, XDs are not american, or made by SA either....

lol, either way, SAs are well made guns, I think they make better guns than some American manufactures.

Panda's right, both of my SA Loaded 1911s are made in Brazil. But then I didn't care where they were made, as long as the were quality pistols.

All GI models are forged, machined and assembled by IMBEL, in addition to most Mil-Spec models. Some Loaded models are, but those with the NM designation are forged and have the final machining and fitting completed in the U.S., in addition to the Springfield Professional models that cost in excess of $3,000, including those that are contracted to both local and Federal law enforcement.

Speaking of which, if local and Federal agencies that contract with Springfield Armory for small arms don't have a problem with a frame being rough forged by IMBEL, I don't understand why a civilian would either. In my opinion, it equates to being nothing more than narrow-minded.

Regardless, Springfield Armory has the best warranty in the business, and remains unmatched by ANY manufacturer our there.
