It is a great gun. Biggest issue is current Colt management running cz and dw into the ground and future parts issues if shooting a lot.

    Super accurate and soft shooting

My preferred 1911 is an Ed Brown Kobra Carry. The DWX Compact has a very similar feel in my hands (as well as size). Obviously a much softer shooter (for 9mm I run 115gr reloads). I felt the DWX's trigger pull @ 4-4.25 lbs was too heavy for this pew pew. Working on it for lightening the trigger pull was easier than a 1911 IMO. I picked up a donor sear spring from Brownell's as I wanted to keep the OEM sear original. Looks like DW "chopped" (and not too cleanly I might add) to "foot" or "lip" of the 3rd tine/leaf (that would be used for a 1911's grip safety) as it's not really needed since there is no grip safety. Literally a 5 minute start to finish job to lighten the trigger pull to 2.5-3 lbs (my sweet spot) for punching paper. Great sights and it's a poa=poi tack driver for me. Is it worth what I paid? No. Is it worth the ever falling (in a free state) MSRP? I don't think so. This is a $1,000 pew pew IMO. I think because the full size (and compact) don't have an RDS cut, it hurt sales (and was truly surprised they didn't announce RDS versions at 2024 SHOT). Some don't like the fact the Compact doesn't have a rail. For this pew pew, I actually PREFER it not have a rail or RDS cut/system as I'm old school and like open/iron sights. Not a big fan of red dot sights. I also like the fact this has no rail and I like the front/rear sights better on the Compact than the full size. Buy once, cry once, at least in CA. My WTB ad was for $2,500 and I had all kinds of folks telling me I wouldn't be able to touch it under $4k. Ha. It's all about the long/waiting game. I was in no hurry and patience paid off.

I was looking at the dwx. But ended up getting a shadow 2 compact instead. Love both guns to be onest. But wanted to put a optic on it and the s2c was optic cut trigger is around 3/3.5 lb and has a rail too. Next will be ether a dwx or prodigy 4.25 in . Dint think you will go wrong with the dwx at all.

My DWX compact arrived with a dead trigger, service said reset screw moved. The safety engages with recoil, sent back they claim it was adjusted, still engages. The front site came lose. Need to send back, hopefully third time is the charm.

CZ S2C is awesome, so is DWX full size.
