    1. Compared to what?
    2. At what cost?
    3. What hard evidence do you have?

I'm sure someone would buy the Ca roster version, but I wouldn't be me. I don't think I know anyone who would either.

They had the Series 80 on the roster in the past and it met these requirements. I have one. It's the first handgun I ever bought.

That is correct the XSE models were on the roster too, but no 9mms that I recall

Yeah, no 9mm. But it's not crazy to think that Colt could fire up the old tooling for those series 80's to get back into the CA market.

colt used to have several 1911s on the roster, but when they went to CNC machining DOJ said it was a "new" gun and needed to meet microstamping (and other) requirements.

Would this be the same reason why S&W M&P 2.0 and SA XD fell off the roster years ago, but these models were recently added back. Not necessarily a change to CNC machining, but changes to the manufacturing process overall.

Thought micro stamping requirements were dead?

It is for now but theyd still need an MDM and CLI. Doubt Colt would be willing to design and produce a 1911 with an MDM and CLI. Doubt anyone would want one either. People already throw fits over a series 80 safety mechanism let alone a CLI and an MDM.
