LCI - Loaded Chamber Indicator question

I'm a little confused about some things I have read. I read somewhere that CA pistols had to have a loaded chamber indicator. I know my XD has one, but looking at my SP2022 it does not. I downloaded a picture on my phone of what appears to be identical to my SP2022 and the picture clearly has an LCI but mine does not. So I tried doing some research online and I couldn't really find a straight answer. I know my SP2022 is SA/DA and has a de-cocker but no manual safety. Is the LCI only required on pistols like my XD with no hammer or what? I have had an XD since 2005 and have gotten used to, or, comfortable with the LCI being there, so I have noticed myself double checking the sh*t out of the SP2022. Anyways, just out of curiosity more than anything, does anyone know what the real deal is with CA law and the LCI?

In this picture you can clearly see the LCI on top of the slide on this SP2022, but I assure you, mine does not have it, there is nothing other than the barrel cutout on top of my slide. Does caliber matter? Mine is a 9mm if that makes a difference...

Has to do with when the handgun was added to the Roster.

To be added in 2006, had to have either LCI or mag disconnect.

To be added 2007 or later, had to have both.

But anything on the Roster before 2006 was not affected by the change in the law.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
