FN five-seven

I am now 21 and have passed my HSC. I am going to pick up a FN five seven next week and i'm quite excited. I'd like to also purchase my friends M4 since I've been saving up for so long.


Must I wait 30 days from the time I purchase the handgun before getting the rifle? The rifle would be private party obviously.


What the **** is it with this 10 day, 30 day waiting? I've never had to deal with this, so now I am starting to see the People's Republic of California at work.

I made my purchase today. now it's in jail for 10 days! This is my first handgun purchase. I'm so excited it's crazy.

Rifles = As many as you'd like in 30 days. You do have to wait 10 days to pick them up tho. Unsure if you have to wait 10 days for Private Party.

Handguns = One per 30 days. If you try to get one before the 30 days is up, I was told by a gun store in my town that DOJ COULD have you arrested.

Was also told by another Gun Store that they aren't gonna allow California to sell FN FiveSevens anymore because the ammunition is like a rifle ammo, and could easily shoot through a Patrol car.

Okay, thank you for the quick response! My remington 870 and remington 700 I got out of state so i had to wait at least 10 days for the guns to arrive. I am new to this process.

Yes, Rifles/shotguns./hanguns are 10 day wait, no matter if the weapon is a dealer sale or private party sale. (PPT)


Rifles/shotguns as many as you want (or can afford..LOL )

Handguns are one in thirty for dealer sales; but PPTs are exempt from the one in thirty rule.

For instance, You buy a brand new GLOCK 17 from OC ARMORY tomorrow; you would could also buy a used handgun from a private party tomorrow using TURNERS for the transfer. The PPT handgun does not count towards a one in thirty rule.

You can DROS both at the same time without a problem..

Rifles are exempt. Any number of them. Have fun!

One thing you learn in this Hobby, is never take the advice or warnings of GUN STORE CLERKS. What he told you was a total lie.

We call it FUD...Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.

Hello All, I'm new to this forum and just wanted to comment that the FN 5.7 is legal to purchase in California. The IOM(matte black)model is certified until 3/23/2013 and the USG(matte black) is certified until 4/12/2013 according to the Roster.
