    ***Glock 23 Gen4 Barrel ?***

Did some research, heard some stories.

Before I buy the Glock 23 Gen4, anyone on CG have insight on this firearm and swapping the barrel out to a Glock 19 barrel for the 9mm shoot?

    1) Does switching out the barrel and shooting a 9mm platform a smooth transition?

    2) Is it basically like buying 2 brand new Gen4 Glocks?

    Also,

9mm mags won't be an issue inside the G23's mag well either correct?

Just buying this for fun shooting. Thanks for the help CG-ers.

You have to buy a 40-9 conversion barrel. The glock 19 barrel won't drop into a glock 23. Mags are interchangeable though.

Try searching the forums or google. Tons of info on it

The aftermarket barrels are cheaper and pretty sure the G19 barrel outer diameter is smaller than the G23's barrel. The .40 to 9mm barrels are the same diameter, just thicker walls. This is only what I've read, I haven't tried it personally.

.40 mags will run 9mm but 9mm mags will not run .40.

        Thanks for the insight.

Here is what I came up with so far and anyone reading can correct me if I'm wrong or missing something.

        1) Get my Gen4 23
        2) Buy myself the Lone Wolf 40-9 barrel (http://glockstore.com/pgroup_descrip...rsion+Barrels/)
        3) Buy myself a RSA Gen 4 G19 (http://www.glockmeister.com/Recoil-S...s/products/97/)
        4) Buy myself 3 G19 mags

        Missing anything besides 9mm rounds?

        Thanks for the reading.

Why not just buy G23 mags so you can gain +2 rounds legally and have mags for your .40?

The ejection housing would need to be changed, but that is cheap. Also, the dual recoil spring is different on the Gen 4 Glock 19 and 23.

Will 9mm rounds fit in the 23's .40 mags? I'm not worried about obtaining high cap mags without getting in trouble.

Thanks for the insight so far.
