I have had a MC Operator for about a year now and the gun rocks! I replaced the standard 16lb spring with a Wolff 18.5lb spring just because I like to shoot Double Tap and +P ammo. I have fired approximately 1000 rounds (ball, gold dot, golden saber, hyrda shoks) through the gun and I have yet to have a failure of any kind. I use Novak and Wilson 47D 8 round magazines and both types work well with the operator. I occasionally mount an Insight M6X light/laser combo to the rails and that also works well. I think I will change the mainspring housing with one that has a lanyard but I think that is all the tinkering I will do to it. A friend of mine who is a cop in the East Bay checked out my MC Operator and now he wants to get one as off duty carry! I paid about $1100 for it at Canyon Sports but I know you can do better at other places. Last July, Reeds in San Jose had it on sale for $1029. Overall, I give the MC Operator two big thumbs up!

Yeah thats not a bad price.Originally posted by hrlrdr22ok so if i can get one brand new in box for 960 im doing ok huh???
As long as I shoot factory ammo I don't have any jams
. With my semi-wadcutters I sometimes get jams in my Loaded SA but not with FMJ or JHP.

That depends. There is more then one SA called "The Operator"Originally posted by hrlrdr22ok so if i can get one brand new in box for 960 I'm doing OK huh???
If it is the TRP model then it is a steal. If it is the standard model then it is a fair buy.
I believe you and I talked about this on Friday and Saturday and that you have seen the gun at Target Masters West.

Hope this helps.
The main difference's between the Marine Corp Operator and the TRP Operator are the MC Operator is a loaded model with a green and black armour tuff type finish,Tritium Novaks, Pachmyer wrap arounds, it also uses the standard guide rod, and it has a 1913 rail best suited for the surefire line of weapon lights.
The TRP Operatoris from springfields custom shop. It has a full length dust cover with the rail for the weapon lights, adj night sights, Pumus(sp) style grips similar to a sandpaper, beveled mag well, 20LPI checkering, fixed guide rod with a stailess bullbarrel, Armour coat finish.
Both guns shoot Extremely well. Me personally i like the TRP.Comment
