Sig p229 / p226 complete breakdown (e2 grip removal also)

Hey I found this vid really helpful when breaking down my sig so I thought I'd post it up here in case anyone out there was also interested.

He breaks everything down except the slide, and installs a dak trigger. Also for anyone curious on how to remove the e2 grips with the tool provided by sig.

I have the E2 grips on my P229 w/ the full serrations and long extractor. I was able to use the video to replace my short trigger w/ the standard trigger. A very helpful video.

Great video. Very helpful for anyone who wants to strip down their sigs to the bone without having to buy the armorers dvds. Putting the springs back without the armorers tool can be a bit tricky but its doable using a regular flat head screw driver to push them in.

Im currently waiting on E2 grips from TGS. going to install it myself for the first time.

Hyperion, did you buy the kit? If your going with the E2 grips you have to change 3 other parts so the E2 fit perfectly. You'll like it. I have E2 on my duty 226 and off duty 229. With the E2, I had to replace the short trigger with the standard trigger b/c my index finger would pinch when I squeezed the trigger back.

You only have to replace parts if your Sig is an older model. I don't know what the cut-off is, but my P229 was manufactured in Nov 2010. I required no parts to be changed other than the parts that were included in the kit.

Its easy to do and made a huge difference for me. (I have medium small hands).

            Cheers,

Great vid! Used the same when installing my SRT, made it so much easier than any other video on Youtube.

              +1 on the E2's, I love em!

For those of you that have the E2 grips...

When replacing them, pinch the frame while holding the trigger bar spring as you slide the grip back into place. It may take a few tries, but the spring will pop off if you don't do it just right.
