Good gun

I've owned a Kimber Pro CDP II for 3 years, which is a very similar gun to the one you describe. I have about 1000 rounds through the gun without any problems, and find it to be reliable and accurate. I have made a few small modifications to the gun, replacing some factory parts with aftermarket parts I like better, such as the thumb safety, grip panels, magazines and mainspring housing.

Why two threads, one for opinions and one looking to purchase? Seems like one thread could cover both. BTW, I have the Ultra CDP II and love it, just need to get back to Reno and have it added to my CCW.

You apparently have a Nevada CCW permit. I don't know if you were aware of this, but Nevada now recognizes 8 other state permits:

If you have a Utah CCW permit, which can be obtained by a CA resident without a trip to Utah, you can carry in Nevada and avoid the gun registration aspects of a Nevada CCW permit.

I have a Kimber Pro Carry II. I bought it new about a year ago and have put about 1400rds through it. I did have a few feeding problems within the first 500 or 600 rds. It was very tight and needed a break-in. Failure to return to battery (1/8") was the main problem. After the 500 or 600 rds of break-in I added a Wolff Xtra-Power recoil spring and it has ran and feeds flawless now.

Very nice gun! I would recommend you not use the factory (metal follower) magazine if you get the alloy framed version and opt for plastic follower magazines such as Wilson Combat.

Thanks, I was aware of that, and I do have a UT permit as well. Since I spend more time in NV, I think I will continue to keep it up, if nothing else, just to avoid problems. And the UT permit does not require qualification, but since the NV is still good, I think that I need to follow the NV rules.

i just bought a second hand one (exact model) i have good and bad about it. the good was it felt great in my hands and i was floored by the accuracy with it. the bad is i had 5 FTE out of about 75 rounds. i didnt do a great cleaning on it wgen i got it so im going to clean the heck out of it and see.

its spotless now and will shoot it tomorrow and let you know. im hoping the it was just dirty.

ok i cleaned it good, out of the first 21 rounds i had 5 fte. i then changed ammo and out of the first 7 i had 2 fte. i then borrowed a mag from the shop. out of 75 rounds 0 ftes. still trying to understand the dynamics of it but a different mag worked. also i am amazed at the accuracy of this gun. hope this helps.
