    Anyone use shooting GOGGLES?

I was once again pondering my prescription shooting glasses options when I noticed that you can get GOGGLES with RX lenses. The advantage I can see to that is that if you use ear muffs (I like electronic ear muffs) you won't have the arms of your RX glasses AND your over-the-glasses safety glasses crushing against your ears.

I find that the tops of my ears really hurt after earmuffs + glasses.

The goggles have that smooth strap rather than a metal arm.

Anyway, it's probably really dorky looking, but if it's comfortable it might be worth it. Anyone try this?

It's very difficult to shoot when using goggles because it gets foggy.

You could use anti-fog wipes popular with scuba divers and skiers.

Why not get safety glasses with RX inserts in them, I believe ESS makes the kind I am referring to.

They also have slip-over safety glasses designed to fit over your prescription glasses and they are dirt cheap.

I just ordered some new wrap around glasses that have inserts that are ground to my prescription and have lenses that are clear, yellow, and grey shaded. I don't remember the name, I will have to update after I get them.

The point OP is making is the arms of glasses hurt his ears when wearing muffs. Goggles have a strap

Yes, but I believe he only experiences this problem when he wears BOTH RX glasses and safety glasses at the same time. With RX safety inserts in some safety glasses he wouldn't have the problem.

They make prescription glasses now with polycarbonate lenses. They can handle everything shooting glasses can. It's also cheaper to get RX glasses that can handle shooting than shooting specific glasses with RX inserts. I wear my normal everyday glasses to more than one range and have no problems with shell casings or ROs. I hated wearing 2 pairs too. Polycarb lenses were originallly developed for industrial safety glasses.

There are glasses for motorcyclists that have an elastic strap like goggles instead of temple bars. Yes, they can be had with prescription lenses. Check the Cruiser type motorcycle magazines, the ads are in the back.
