Dont forget 1911 was designed for the philippine insurection (moro or Muslim) the old US Army side arms back then was too less power for the filipinos when they charged the Army and end up wounding and killing the US soldier. They rethink and decided to develop a bigger more powerful pistol and they came up with 1911.

Now, it time for the Filipinos to make the gun that was designed for them by the US Army

Have shot my friend's .40 P226, awesome gun. Nice and solid.
I (and others who've fired it) felt the sp2022 has a lot of kick to it, maybe because it was a .40? I had always assumed it would have less recoil than the glocks I've fired. Didn't grow on me.

@keilbasavw. My german car has electrical problems ... so what's that supposed to mean about the country's technology?
I drive a bmw. I think I have first hand experience with germany's superior engineering and electrical failures
"Some people"? Lol. No one ever said anything about Germany's technology being inferior to the rest of the world.
I'm talkin about an entry level budget 1911 that's the best bang for anyones buck.
Coincidence... Even as a novice, I just knew that a heavier gun would translate into less recoil; at least less than a poly gun... my 1st gun is the P226 full stainless, 42 oz... my buddy's first gun was the xdm 9mm. after he shoot my gun, he sold the xdm and bought a SIG 1911...

Easy Polymer fans; I have much respect for plastic guns...

I want to try out an M&P 9... glocks aren't too bad either. If I ever get another polymer, it'll definitely be a 9. I'll keep the .45s steel. Although my friend recently purchased an m&p 45 (in jail), I haven't tested it, so maybe there's hope for a .45 poly in my life.

@tripeaks69. Yeah I've heard about it's history. I've seen vids and read info about armscor's/RIA's.
        Funny how life works huh

congrats! you made a great purchase, as I too have a RIA tac 1911 as my first 1911, and it has been outstanding so far.

AS for your next, if you do plan on getting one, I suggest SA, Sig 1911 or Kimber in that order

I have both and will keep both. I got the RIA first and love it, the 2022 is still nice but a 1911 is top.

While quality is king, I wouldn't say stepping over to a browning design at the same price point is a step down; my Kimber beats the pants off my Sig 220 on accuracy and feel (if not reliability).

Again, more positive feedback from knowledgeable people who have experience with the 1911 platform and have first hand experience with the RIAs.
                  Thanks for the input!

@hcbr. 1911s in that order sound real good. Now, if it were only that ea$y... lol
I have heard that kimbers qc and cust service has been going down hill. Those are major factors in a purchase. My RIA will definitely not be my last 1911... I just made sure to do my hw and start my 1911 venture off on the right foot (with a budget).

@darlyte27. The sig was my first pistol. I intended to keep it. Can't have too many pistols right? But it just didn't grow on me. Figured, what the hell, I'll sell it and get a better firearm.
Plus my girlfriend doesn't like it's kick. I want something she can feel comfortable handling as well.

@calshipbuilder. I'm open to all things of good quality. I support the best bang for buck products. I'm not a fanboy/whore for any brand solely because of it's origin or any other reason. If a product truly is of high quality, then I'm all for it!

Ignore the "HATERS", you will like your RIA Tac! I have 3 Sigs and 1 Glock and a Ruger. All are decent guns. When I bought my RIA I wasn't expecting much. After shooting 900 rounds through it I am impressed. For a sub $500 1911, it performs out of the box. It keeps up with my other friends Colt Gold Cup, Kimber, Para Ordinance and Springers. To each his own, internet will always be around to stir the pot.

Just ordered a 45 Tactical from Buds Sunday, my FFL got it today, I pick it up May 26th. $448 delivered to my local FFL who will add his fee, tax and DROS and it still was less expensive then what I saw at a store in the Valley.
