Changing Micro/Pocket Guns

Both MrsDoc and I carry Ruger LC9's with CT lasers, but we're going to try a couple of different Kahr's.

I ordered a new CM9 and a CW9 from Bud's tonight.

We'll see how those work for us.

Due to the position of the mag releases, we're both dropping mag's mid-string.

And you know what they say, "The loudest sound in the world is 'CLICK' during a gunfight".

I had a PM40 for a while a year or so ago, and it shot very well. It was just a little too thick for my SmartCarry system.

We'll see how the CM9 carries.

BTW -- Taser Intl gave me a real deal on the M26C Taser. $75 if I traded in my 1995 model.

I did, indeed, carry a D frame for years.

Micro 9's are relatively new to the market and are working well for us.

If I didn't have the mag-drop problem, I be totally satisfied with the LC9 and 7 rounds of CorBon DPX in a slender frame.

I didn't care much for the LC9. Still to big for a true pocket gun. I just traded mine in for an AMT Backup in 380. I'll see how that goes.

That being said I like the Kahrs but most of them are on the expensive side. I have the CW45 right now that I'm looking to get rid of. I'm replacing it with a 1911, the ergonomics on the 1911 just seem to work better for me. Now if I could just find a reasonably prices compact 1911 in 9mm I could be happy.

LOL, my friend who is dang near deaf and about 75 years old just fired a snub .38 on accident from a fanny pack into a wall thank god and he didn't even know it went off. I was really surprised about that! Time to give up your CCW if thats going on.

Back in the '80's I bought two AMT Backup's for me and the wifey.

She couldn't operate the short, stiff slide, so I was showing it to my dad who ran a local bank.

Who else ya gonna dump a gun on than your dad, right?

I removed the mag, cleared the chamber, clicked the trigger and handed it to him.

He was confused about the safety.

I told him it would only engage when the gun was cocked.

He handed it back to me, I pulled back the slide, looked into the chamber again, and dropped the slide.

He had reinserted the mag..

I only looked at the chamber!

Pointed it straight down to the carpet between my feet (muzzle discipline was excellent) and BAM!!!

I immediately stepped out his office door and told everyone (the bank was open and full of customers) that everything was ok and to go back to work.

I was VERY pizzed I had made such a stupid error.

He never said a word about it since early in his career he'd fired a 12ga pump inside a bank vault.
