    Ruger 22/45 on backorder?

I am specifically looking for this pistol, so I went to 2 local stores yesterday and was told that the Ruger 22/45 was on back order until May or June.

Has anyone heard about this or is it just a regional thing (I'm in the IE)?

Ruger has stopped taking orders until they finished the influx of orders they have recieved.

They are backlogged by a million guns.
    Current Armory:
    HK p7m8
    Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm
    Hi-Power Practical
    Baby Eagle 9mm
    P99 AS

They had two in Faith Armory not two weeks ago (I bought one of them)

Edit: Erm sorry I missed your link. Nope not that configuration.

        This is highly disappointing.

I was about to fall into a deep depression before I saw your edit.

I also went to Faith Armory and they did have a few Rugers, but not the configuration I wanted.

If I don't find this model in Ventura Co. (I go back and forth a lot) I will wait until Faith Armory has it in stock and buy it from them. They are a great store.

It's temporary. Ruger is doing so well that they have temporarily stopped accepting back orders until they clear the open production orders they have in hand. They pledged to sell a million guns to support NRA a couple of quarters back and wound up selling over 1.2 million.

They don't want to skimp on anything or cut corners in order to get guns out faster, and there's nothing wrong with that.

              Yep!

Plus I heard from the "horse's mouth" Glock is 540,000 guns behind.

I didn't think it''s going get better anytime soon.

              Good Luck!

I think I saw one of these at budsgunshop.com
I purchased one for 270 before taxes and fees.

Like after the 2008 Presidential election, guns are scarce. For us dealers it is not what I want to order it is what can I order. I look down my wholesalers web sites and their inventory is all 00000's. I call up now and ask got any Glocks? Any 1911s? What the hell do you have that you can send me? I got lucky firday and got a Sig 1911 Target model coming and a Amrscor 1911 Tactical, a S&W Sigma and a few Springfirld XDs. Oh, and a S&W M&P-15OP coming. It is tough to sell guns when you can't get them.

I went to every gun shop I could in Ventura county trying to find that exact model with no luck, and they all said they were backordered. Some online retailers have that model in stock (kygunco has it for $260) so you could get it that way if you want to add in the FFL fee.

I ended up finding a stainless MKIII target and since it was in the only one in stock purchased it on the spot and gave up on the 22/45 for now.

Thank you, I ended up ordering from KY Gun Co.

It's the exact model I wanted. I'll keep Faith in mind for my next gun purchase but for now I'll be supporting another local FFL for the out of state transfer (ugh, why do we have to pay taxes on everything?).

                        I look forward to plinking!
