    First handgun

    Hey Y'all,

I just wanted to post a pic of my very first handgun. It's a Springfield XD45 tactical (found in the classifieds, right here). I've shot a variety of firearms over the years, thanks to a buddy who is an avid shooter, but I had never given any thought to owning one for myself.

Next weekend, the wifey and her best friend will be taking a beginner's pistol class, since her friend's husband has recently purchased his first firearm, too (Sig 226ST). In two weeks, I'll be taking the Pistol 101 course at TASC and can hardly wait.

Nice! Runnin' with the Big Dogs right outta the gate.

If this Ammo Drought is as bad as The Great Ammo Drought of '09 you'll be wanting to start reloading.

I figured that if by some freak of nature, this is the only pistol that I ever get, I wanted it to be a 45, since SD/HD would be its primary role.

Lucky for me, my buddy already reloads and has offered to show me how it's done. I've starting collecting brass and have even just picked some up from another calgunner. Even with reloading, I definitely see a 9mm for me in the near future.
