    Browning H-P ejection Pattern

I have a Hi-Power in .40 S&W that ejects brass straight out at 3:00, and when my son is using it (to my left) I get pelted on the side of the head with a contstant stream of hot brass.

Is this ejection patter normal, or do I have a problem with a stiff recoil spring or something else? I know the recoil spring is the stock factory unit. Round count is under 2000.

    TIA

What were you expecting? 5 o'clock? Just curious. Never paid too much attention to this. I do see brass pelt the guy next them on the firing line all the time. Not normally this consitantly, but often enough to just shrug it off when it happens randomly. Pretty curious to see what the Hi-Power experts have to say.

Well, I'm comparing it to three other pistols: 1911, sig p220, and a cz sp-01 tac. All the others toss the brass up and back over the shoulder-but not the HP-it flings a line drive straight out at 3 every round.

Frankly, if I had my "druthers", I'd like to see them all toss it out like a well timed Garand-1:00 and forward, but I know I'm dreaming there...
