    1911 barrel bushing fitting

I picked up a Wilson Combat barrel bushing (#29S) for my RIA Tactical. The barrel bushing won't fit into the slide, do I need to file and do some fitting?

Also tried to put the WC barrel bushing on my TRP, it wouldn't fit either.

    Defective (oversized) bushing? Fitting required?

Needs to be fitted. Lathe would be your best bet.

A barrel bushing requires fitment to the slide and barrel, and accounts for the bulk of the pistols accuracy. You would measure the OD of the barrel, and ID of the slide, and purchase a bushing close to those dimensions for fitment.

        Yes, needs fitting.
I prefer a jeweler's file for the outside fit to the slide.
The lug may need a little trimming as well to fit in its groove.
