    ruger rust issue?

    i just brought home a new ruger handgun and seem to have an issue i used an old tshirt to wipe off all the oil/grease it came in and about 30 minutes later i started seeing signs of what i wanna call rust but its more of a white color its a p95 and its on the slide where it has ruger p95 etched it feels raised and like it was building up on the other side where the ruger logo is seems fine this is my 3rd ruger handgun and the 2nd to have this issue i have a markiii that had the same issue happen where the serial # is etched and nowhere else i also had an sr9 i bought used and didnt have any issues am i doing something wrong or just some sort of bad luck?

            Rust that is white color? Maybe this is a gun that was used in the drug trade. Maybe cocaine or heroin. Maybe meth. Maybe talcum powder that the previous owner used to baby his baby. I'd send it to Abbie at the NCIS lab, she'll figure it out.

                When I first shot my Gp100 I noticed a white residue where the barrel attaches to the frame. I contacted Ruger and they said it was excess salts from the bluing process. After cleaning, it has never shown again and the gun has functioning flawlessly since. Maybe that is what you are seeing. I would contact Ruger to see what they have to say.
