    1911 Convert ...

Never had a 1911, never thought I needed one. Shot mostly 9mm in 92f or Glock format. Shot a friend's M&P 45 at range and liked it, but, based in no small part on info from this forum, I instead picked up a SA 1911 Loaded-Parkerized. Took it home and cleaned it well as suggested by many of you (boy it was really dripping with oil from the factory), and put it back together three times to get familiar with it (with no idiot marks I might add). Took to range last night and put 200 rounds down range. Boy Howdy, nice gun. Ran flawlessly. Well balanced and accurate. I was very impressed. Alleluia, I have seen the light. Thanks for all the good info. Only problem, now it needs company.......

I've been recently wanting to build my own 9mm 1911 off of perhaps Caspian slide/frame. Think I'd have a problem getting one the frame though since its not on the roster and I don't want to deal with 60-80% builds.

        hehe it happens....

Balance, feel, and tighter groups are always the first thing non-1911 shooters tell me they like when I convince them to try one of mine.

        Congrats!

          *shoot shoot shoot*

          *bang bang bang*

"Oh no, bad guy got away!"

*Takes out a 308 bolt action rifle*

          .... to be continued!

1911's will be around forever. Its a very well designed gun (although I dislike the internal extractor). I have no doubt that it will be around for another 100 years. The 45APC round is my Fav. Love the feel of it shooting 230gr rounds.

if you like .45ACP, you will end up buying a 1911. Congrats!

              SA1911s are so sexy.
