    Ten days or 240 hours.

The Wife and I bought a new hand gun today, we pick it up on the 20th. It's the Sig SP2022, it came with one mag and cost 482.06; fees and all. Now the last I bought a new gun was 1985, the wait was 14 days and not 14 24 hour time periods. Now my problem is what to do for ten days, I will be back in Arizona this coming weekend and have a ruger p94 there, but that will drive me nuts, the SP2022 will be here and I could play with it all I want out there. Oh well it's only time and as long I don't drop dead before the 20th it's all good.

What about 14,400 minuets or 864,000 Seconds.

        Either way the wait sucks...

Most shops I see just say 11 days to not argue with the customer who want to pick up exactly on the 240 hour mark. Yeah, those people are crazy and I have never done that in my life let alone 10+ times

Consider the 10 days long enough to find accessories, buy them, and have them shipped to your door. I have a horrible habit of buying a firearm and because of my impatient nature I order a butt load of accessories to deal with the wait.

I wish I could do that, and if I did the wife would get upset as she's the bookkeeper. My next is to save the money to put something on the rail.

When I bought my last rifle, it was the spring ahead, so, in reality, I only waited 239 hours!

+1!! I wondered whether the FFL might get busted for releasing guns 1 hour early... =)

You get 10 days to clean the safe for your new acquisition, and 240 hours to repeat said cleaning

Yes, they could. I am not sure if they would ever notice, but it is possible.

I suspect it was actually 15 days, 10 days for the waiting period and 5 days for the mail. Since the DROS was not submitted electronically, there was no time stamp on it, now there is.

Nice FFLs will circle or otherwise point out the exact time the DROS was submitted, so that you can come back any time after that exact time on the 10th day in order to pick up your firearm.

I know the pain. My very first handgun had a pickup day of Saturday, but the shop was closed for training and didn't open again til that Tuesday!

                              I've waited 30 days+ for a used one...
