    Chopped Glock 23

I had my Glock 23 cut to accept 27 magazines for a little better concealement, then I did some work to the grip and the stippling. This is the most natural aiming Glock I have ever held and fits my hand like a glove. I welcome all comments.

More power to you for doing your own thing but why not just get a 27 and leave your 23 unmolested? The extra barrel length of the 23 versus the 27 isn't enough IMO to justify chopping a perfectly good 23.

I already had the 23, and to be honest I hate the way the 27 grip feels. Quirky, I know, but this feels / fits WAY better than any 27 I have ever held. PLus, I have only sold one gun in my entire life, this is a keeper, and to ME, much more so now. The advantages I have with this as well are front rail, granted not used much, but it is used, as well as a longer sight radius.

Let's start with the with all the negatives people will say:
          • You lose 5 rounds (Not so much in Cali)
          • Do you even have a CCW or Credentials for carry?
          • Why?
          • Looks stupid
          • Who cares, it's a Glock.
          • Etc
          • Etc

But seriously, great job. I like these cut down 19/23 Glocks. You get the longer sight radius, less felt recoil and more inherent mechanical reliability than a true subcompact.

It's a win, win. But like always, haters gonna hate

This about sums it up. And for your list:
              lost one round
              Yes
              Because I like it
              So do some hammers
              Yep etc.....

              I agree 100%. For ME it's a win win.........

I've been looking at a 20 for a while, now I'm thinking a 20 cut ot a 29 grip length may be in order.

Very cool. It's like a Glock CCO.

Wow, that's really innovative. Simple yet I have never heard of anyone doing it. Good job.

Ilvsmog, it's growing on me for sure.
Berge at Ole Boy did the cutting, then I did the grip shaping and stippling. This thing is so easy to carry.

I'm thinking about the finger grooves, the thing is I kind of like them, they fit me well, I think I'll do the stippling in between them though to eliminate the cheese grater effect. I am planning on rounding off the trigger guard as well as undercutting it some. I have an extended slide release on order as well as a plus one pinky extension. I'll post up some better pictures once it's all done.

Custom guns are so cool!!! You have a unique gun that you modified to your specifications. I like the shorter grip with added controllability of the longer 23 slide. I have a G23 and G27, I used to hate transitioning to the 27 due to it's much sharper recoil. I never customized any of them except for replacing sights and smoothing out the trigger. It's funny for I like carrying the 27 due to the less height in which the butt of the 23 usually prints when carried.
