I think I purchased a pistol before my 30 day limit was up. I purchased a new G17 on March 9th, at around 5 in the afternoon. For some stupid reason I thought that it was over a month ago, and I bought a G26 at Wild Bill's in Elk Grove this past Saturday on my birthday, which was April 7th. What happens when/if the DOJ kicks back my DROS?

Im curious to find out also! But I doubt Id be buying firearms back to back within 30 days!"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

It will get rejected. No big deal except you are out your DROS. This happened to a friend of mine, the FFL DROSd him twice within a few days on accident before his 30 days were up (he buys a gun every 30 days and sometimes has several on hold in the queue).
You don't have to wait until the end of the 10 day wait on your "mistake" DROS to do another on the same gun. Make sure you are outside the 1 in 30, and just DROS it again. The first one will get rejected, the second one will go though. At least that is what happened to my friend.Last edited by Kodemonkey; 04-09-2012, 8:18 PM.Comment

the DROS will be rejected, and you'll have to re-DROS is after your 30 days is up. not really a big deal"I'm just a peckerwood who lives in the hills with too many guns."- Bobby Lee Swagger, Shooter

Yup... missed it by one day and however many hours... but, alas... it doesn't matter... it is 29 days.
You will get a call, and you will pay another DROS fee... no biggie... happens to the best of us

It's 1 in 30, so 30 days since the START of your last DROS. I think a lot of people start doing math and think it is 1 in 40 because of the 10 day wait but it isn't. 31 days after your las handgun purchase you can DROS another handgun.
PPT are NOT included in the 1 in 30. So you can buy 10 PPTs at once if you wanted (my friend is always looking for consignment guns for that reason).Comment
